Managing DirectorGavin started his career in gaskets in 1997 and has a long track record in technically supporting clients.
He has a special interest in corrosion mitigation and has been involved in the development and testing of a number of innovative products which have been adopted by the Oil and Gas Sector. Gavin has also sat on various industry working group commitees such as the Oil and Gas UKs Revision of ‘Guidelines for the Management of Bolted Joints in Pressurised Systems’ to 3rd Ed.

Technical ConsultantDr Gavin Smith has had a long and successful career in the gasket industry, having worked as technical manager for 2 large global manufacturers before his involvement with both the Phoenix Group and Alba. A specialist in leak prevention, Gavin has been involved in developing several innovative product lines designed to tackle corrosion's costly effect in the field.

Technical AuthoritySigfrid is our Technical Authority with over 20 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing and gaskets. Sigfrid contributes his uniquely specialized expertise in the fields of operations management and mechanical/process engineering to both the Alba team and our client base and has been responsible for a number of new product innovations and enhancements.
